Regular pumping of the septic tank is something that most homeowners neglect. As long as the plumbing is working, they don’t think about where everything they flush or put down the drain is going. Maintaining your septic tank system is just as important as properly maintaining your vehicle.
Even if you are careful about what you flush or put down the drains, you still need to schedule periodic septic tank pumping. Failure to do so can cause plumbing backup in your home due to the top scummy layer of the tank becoming thick with paper and grease. This prevents water from flowing into the tank.
The frequency of septic tank pumping can vary but we recommend that you have your septic tank pumped every 2 to 5 years depending on your family size and usage of the system.
